Miloš Nadaždin’s Exhibition at Silosi Left a Deep Mark on Our Public

At Silosi, the exhibition by our renowned fashion photographer Miloš Nadaždin, titled Traces, has come to a close. Over the past few days it drew a lot of attention in an already stirred-up public. Almost in keeping with its own name and leitmotif, it ran unusually briefly for an exhibition, but from September 14 to 17 it welcomed a truly impressive number of visitors and public figures from all spheres of our society.

Traces is a plural noun, and it denotes a feature, sign, or other indicator of the existence or passage of something or someone. The idea of the exhibition is to symbolically present the context in which the LGBT+ community lives in Serbia today. These are people who exist and have faces, but have no voice. Using vivid colors from the rainbow palette, the author wanted to highlight the positive impact that members of the community leave behind.

“With the help of the photographs I prepared, I wanted to amplify my message and draw attention to the importance of inclusion and respect for diversity. My core belief is that it is precisely the uniqueness of every living being that adds value to society. Then, when we accept that as a society, instead of being polarized, we will all be stronger—together,” said the exhibition’s author.
