A new mural titled “Words That Build” will soon begin to be realized at Silosi Beograd. Through typography and language, it explores values such as truth, justice, joy, care, and a smile—concepts that shape interpersonal relationships and the community.
In the competition for the new mural, the selected work was by Professor Luka Prstojević, from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, and his student Kruna Jevtić, a fourth-year student in the Graphic Communications program. Professor Prstojević taught Kruna the courses “Lettering and Typography with Calligraphy” and “Poster Design”, and their joint work emerged as a blend of pedagogical experience and contemporary visual expression in public space.
The mural “Words That Build” will become part of a public space that speaks quietly, but clearly. At a time when hate speech and intolerance are increasingly present, this work affirms a culture of dialogue and values that connect rather than divide.
It carries special symbolism that the mural is signed by a professor and a student from Novi Sad—a city to which Silosi Beograd, through this project, sends a message of closeness and cooperation.
The mural was realized with the support of the Council of Europe and the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia, whom we thank for their support of culture and art.
