Moments in Time – Muhammed Muheisen's Exhibition Opens at Silosi

Silosi hosted the opening of Moments in Time, an exhibition by internationally acclaimed photographer Muhammed Muheisen—a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, National Geographic photographer and Explorer, and Canon EMEA Ambassador. Presented with the support of the European Union, the exhibition brings together a selection of photographs created over more than fifteen years of documenting communities and global events across multiple continents.

Spanning countries including Afghanistan, Jordan, Pakistan, Serbia, Austria, and Ukraine, Moments in Time explores themes of displacement, memory, resilience, and the universal search for safety, belonging, and home. Rather than focusing solely on historical events, Muheisen's photographs reveal the deeply personal stories behind them, capturing moments of dignity, hope, and everyday life in the face of extraordinary circumstances.

Born in Jerusalem and raised in Jordan, Muhammed Muheisen has spent more than two decades documenting major events throughout Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and the United States. For over fifteen years, his work has focused extensively on refugee communities around the world, making him one of the leading visual storytellers of contemporary humanitarian issues. Beyond his work as a photojournalist, he is the founder and chairman of the Everyday Refugees Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to documenting, educating, supporting, and empowering refugees and displaced communities through photography and humanitarian initiatives.

Muheisen's work is distinguished by its empathy and its ability to reveal extraordinary humanity within ordinary moments. His photographs encourage viewers not only to witness global events but also to reflect on shared human experiences, compassion, and the connections that unite people across cultures and borders.

The exhibition opening brought together representatives of cultural institutions, international organisations, diplomatic missions, media professionals, artists, and photography enthusiasts. Visitors had the opportunity to engage with a body of work that invites dialogue on migration, identity, resilience, and the enduring power of visual storytelling.

As part of Silosi's cultural programme, Moments in Time reflects the venue's commitment to presenting internationally significant artistic projects that engage with contemporary social issues through art. The exhibition remained open to the public until 28 May, welcoming visitors daily from 2 PM to 8 PM.
