What does a city look like through a child’s eyes?

At Dom kulture Silosi Beograd, we had the opportunity to host the KIPARH school of architecture and deliver the urban planning workshop Late Night Architecture, dedicated to looking at the city from a child’s perspective.

The workshop was intended for children and young people aged 8 to 16, who, through an interactive and exploratory process, identified and mapped urban landmarks—places and public spaces that, for them, are important reference points in their everyday movement through the city.

In collaboration with the Gaia pokret organization, the workshop was carried out in the form of an interactive exhibition in the Silosi Beograd space. The participants’ results will serve the KIPARH school of architecture team as a starting point for further research and a deeper understanding of the relationship between children, the city, and the built environment.

We owe special thanks to Zoran Mesarović and Milinko Radosavljević, who provided their photographs for analysis and work during the workshop.

Silosi Beograd continue to be a meeting place for education, architecture, and public space, with a special focus on programs that encourage the youngest to actively participate in understanding and shaping the city they are growing up in.
